According to the monitoring of MOFCOM, the prices of farm produce in 36 large and medium-sized cities rose slightly, and prices of production means in circulation fell in a narrow range last week (August 24–August 30).

Last week, prices of poultry and eggs continued to rally, with the price of eggs up 4.5% and that of chicken up 0.3%. The prices of meat rose inordinately, with the price of pork up 1.2% and that of mutton up 0.1%. The average price of aquatic product increased 0.5%, led by the prices of carp, chub and grass carp, with an increase of 1.1%, 0.9%, and 0.6% respectively. The price of edible oil rose slightly, with the prices of flower seed oil, peanut oil, soya-bean oil rising 0.2%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively. The average price of 18 kinds of vegetables remained the same as the previous week, with the prices of cabbage, cucumber and green pepper down 3.8%, 3.5% and 3.3% respectively and the prices of green bean, tomato and bitter gourd up 3.2%, 2.8% and 2.4% respectively. The prices of grain run smoothly, with the prices of rice and flour remaining the same as the previous week.

Last week, the price of rubber went down 1.4% compared with the previous week, with the prices of natural rubber and synthetic rubber down 2% and 0.6% respectively. The price of steel decreased 0.9%, with the prices of hot rolling common sheet and high speed wire rod down 1.3% and 1.2% respectively. The price of nonferrous metals was down 0.4%, with the prices of tin, nickel, zinc and aluminum down 4.8%, 4.8%, 2.1% and 0.7% respectively, cooper and lead up 0.6% and 0.4% respectively. The prices of basic chemical raw materials decreased 0.1%, with the prices of methyl alcohol and pure benzene down 1.5% and 1.4% respectively. The price of chemical fertilizer remained stable, with the prices of urea, kalium chloratum and NPK the same as the previous week, while DAP went up 0.1%. The price of coal remained steady as a whole, with the prices of steam coal and coking coal staying the same as the previous week and the price of blind coal up 0.1%.
